The box refers to one server computer, or computing cluster. The boxes come in different sizes varying by your needs. We can consolidate up to 4 Windows 2000/2003 servers in one box. This can include IIS WEB/SQL, Exchange mail hosting, and Windows application/internet server hosting. We utilize Windows Terminal Server, Citrix, NX, XDM, or terminal emulation to bring the server applications to the desktop seamlessly, Allowing you maximum productivity and versatility. Since the Windows servers are actually virtual machines future migrations, upgrades, and OS changes are all a matter of moving or copying a file. With the Snapshot feature recovering a corrupt Windows server is completed in a matter of minutes.

Server consolidation is achieved using Linux as the underlying operating system, coupled with the industry leader in virtualization,VMWare ™ to virtualize your server environment. VMWare provides a virtual machine to run your multiple servers on a single physical platform. The underlying Linux operating system has been used as server platforms by companies such as IBM, Oracle, Microsoft. These companies have proven its ability to utilize available hardware resources to their fullest potential. Linux provides the base, as well as file and printer sharing resources for your network without per desktop licensing fees. Thereby further reducing your per desktop cost. Linux is also a proven industry leader in network security and VPN connectivity, offering the most robust array of network protocols and control. Linux is the backbone of our server technology to provide the most stable environment for your virtual servers. With this system, Linux and Windows run coherently together on the same machine, reducing your per server expense.

With your servers consolidated into one machine, or two in a fail-over scenario we next turn to the desktop. For new desktops no PC is needed. We replace the standard PC with a Wyse 5150SE Winterm. This device gives you the ability to utilize all peripherals just like the PC, complete with sound and USB hot-plug components. Current desktop PCs may be redeployed in this environment if they have a PXE capable network card. This gives the PC the ability to boot from the network. They no longer need hard drives, yet peripherals such as CD/DVD, printers, and USB devices may still be used if support by the server the PC connects to, and may be shared on the network.

Speed! A single 2.4Ghz processor machine with 1GB or RAM and two 80GB hard drives running two Windows 2003 IIS/SQL and Terminal Server virtual machines can be booted and running with full functionality in less than one minute.

Interoperability with existing servers is easily accomplished with configureable SMB file and printer sharing on the native Linux operating system, there is no need for Microsoft CAL (Client Access License), saving you the expense of current client/server topologies. Microsoft Windows Terminal Server licensing still applies to each desktop.

The network boot operating system loads onto the PC or Winterm and is pre-configured to attach to the Windows Terminal Server which bring all the Microsoft applications the user's desktop. The desktop is now a virtual desktop, which may run multiple virtual sessions on Windows Terminal Server, legacy AS/400, RS6000, and other terminal emulation type systems, as well as Unix XWindow (XDM) hosts, telnet/ssh hosts, or built-in XWindow server. This allows each user accesss to the full scope of possible network server infrastructures at the same time on one desktop.

Management of the desktops and servers is accomplished via a simple web browser from any location on the network, or from a single secure location of your choice. There is no need for a server console. Our offering has two modes, either managed or stand-alone. Managed means that we manage your network and desktops remotely. This option is great for smaller companies with no resident IT department or system administrators. The stand alone option is better for larger companies with resident IT personnel. We train your personnel in the management of server and desktop systems, and provide continuing support via contract or as-needed basis.

Security of your network is also handled by our proven Linux firewall software currently marketed under FireWallZ.Com, which has been providing managed firewall and VPN solutions to our clients for over 10 years. FireWallZ.Com is a managed firewall and VPN solution which may be added to your site, or pre-configured and left to be managed by your staff via a secure web browser interface. Security has never been this easy.

Finally each integrated system offers your users fully secure web browsing and virus/trojan filtering. Web proxy accelerators run on the server, with manageable access configurations so that you can grant or restrict access to specific websites by all users, or on any user/group basis you choose.
